Erik Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is reportedly considering adding to his team in the currently open summer transfer window after being linked with a number of players who may potentially help the club fight for major trophies next season.
Following the departures of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, Ten Hag’s main aim is to sign a defensive midfielder, and according to recent rumours, the Dutchman is close to landing his dream signing.
According to Laurie Whitewell of UtdFaithfuls, Frankie De Jong, a Dutch international, had agreed to join Man United after a huge breakthrough in talks, with a deal said to be in the final stages.
Both parties are close to reaching an agreement, with the 25-year-old already receptive to joining United, who see him as the ideal target to bolster their midfield department.
De Jong is exactly the type of player United has been looking for, making him an ideal addition to Erik Ten Hag’s side.
Meanwhile, sources claim Manchester United and Liverpool are vying for Benfica’s Darwin Nunez.
